This is definitely one of a kind due to the heavy mods made on it. It started out in the early 70’s as a Japanese made neck through bass. When we got it, it was in very rough shape. The frets were worn to nubs, as was the gouged out fretboard so off with the frets! We filled the cuts and dyed it with Indian ink after leveling the fretboard. We were going to paint the top because it was in bad shape but decided to “skin” it instead so we chose the rattlesnake pattern. We preserved as much of the original hardware as possible but the electronics are new. We installed a vintage set of active Seymour Duncan pickups and a new set of Curt Mangan 45/105 flat wound strings and it’s ready for a new home. We call it the fretless Texas Rattlesnake bass!
